The fourth session covers basic collection care as applied to collection management. An overview of deterioration factors will lead to handling guidelines; pest control procedures and forms; condition assessment forms; security logs, procedures and forms; procedures for applying accession or catalog numbers; object and exhibit cleaning procedures; storage and exhibit preservation guidelines; exhibit and building inspection forms; conservation records and their management; and expectations when contracting a conservator. Sample forms will be provided.
